About Us

The Descartes Education Counselling Centre (DECC) is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to provide assistance to students to achieve their best in their journey through tertiary education.

Founded by Tony Pua, the DECC is currently being organised by a committee of members who are geographically located in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia/NZ. With this, the DECC hopes to be able to provide information and assistance from within these countries to aspiring young Malaysians.

As you explore our site, we hope to give you a different perspective on how you can achieve your dreams of attending a top-rate school. Among them:

1. Admissions advise from people who know best, people who has gone through that phase and succeeded.

2. Financial advise to help you understand the different financial aid, scholarships, funding, etc. that are available.

3. Post-graduation advise in career development, internships and how to maximise your potential with your hard-earned degree in hand.

We aim to be different from the many educational counselling centres out there. For starters, being non-profit, you can rest assure that what we present to you is information from the grass-roots level; not from educational organisations, university representatives and other for-profit entities. We hope to give you an unbiased view to make the best of your educational years.

Additionally, the DECC will host events and talks by alumni of some of the top global universities in UK, US, Australia and others. These Malaysians will help by sharing their experiences in those universities, their application process as well as anything else which prospective students would like to find out. There will also be articles published from contributing authors amongst the committee and beyond on topics such as their personal experiences, university life, specific university information and other useful info.
