Vision

What we do

The DECC hopes to serve as a provider of first hand information – where you can get advice from the people who have been there and done it. We see ourselves as the “middle-man”, linking queries from you to replies from the people we think will be most appropriate to handle these queries.

Our target audience

We hope to reach out to 3 main groups:

  1. Secondary school students – to provide information on options after SPM, university admissions advice and financial matters
  2. University students – for matters regarding internship placements and career options
  3. University graduates – for information on postgraduate education, career environments and job applications

What we hope to achieve

We hope you will achieve your full potential. The DECC strongly believe that our students already possess the talent, we are just hoping to give them that little push.

Why we are not just another blog

We hope to make sure that your questions are answered by the people who know best – current students/scholars, alumni of universities or industry experts

We have a base to operate from – the DECC building in Damansara Uptown serves as the venue for our events

We hope to go out to secondary schools around the country to create the awareness that quality education is accessible to all who are willing to put in the effort

We do not just comment about issues in education, we try to offer a solution

How can I help?

Write to us if:

  • you think you can spare an hour a week replying e-mails
  • you have a unique education background that you want to share
  • you come across information that you think might be useful
  • you have ideas on how we can improve

And no, being educated overseas is NOT a pre-requisite to help us out. We welcome anyone and everyone who drives, takes the bus/LRT/KTM Komuter to go to university. Not everyone needs to fly.
